Curtis (Curt) Wayne Lutz, 64, of Vienna, Virginia passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on March 6, 2024. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, and trusted friend.
Curtis was born in Alliance, Ohio on September 16, 1959, to the late Earnest and Grace (Heddrick) Lutz. Growing up in Minerva, Ohio, his parents, family, community, and faith instilled in him a gentle confidence, and positive and supportive nature that was admired by all who knew him.
Being a proud graduate of The Ohio State University with a dual major in Computer Science & Accounting, Curtis worked as a computer scientist supporting IT systems for 41 years. Curtis supported the Smithsonian Institution as the Director of HR and Admin Systems Division for the past 22 years until his passing. His ability to continue to work while battling serious medical issues in recent years is a true testimony to his positive attitude, dedication, and faith.
Curtis enjoyed gardening, Ohio State Football, family life, and passing on family recipes to his kids.
He is survived by his wife Adrienne; son Ian; daughter Kat; sister Carolynn (Joe) Herstine; brothers Jeff (Genny) Lutz and Greg (Michelle) Lutz; 15 nieces/nephews; and 13 great nieces/nephews.
Curtis was truly one-of-a-kind and will be sorely missed.
Calling hours will be held at Money & King Funeral Home in Vienna, Virginia on Tuesday March 12, 2024, from 7 pm – 9 pm. Calling hours and the funeral service will be held in Minerva Ohio, at the Minerva Methodist Church on Saturday March 23. Calling hours will start at 10:00 am followed by the funeral at 11:00 am. The burial will be in the East Lawn Cemetery following the service.
