It is with a heavy heart, we announce the sudden passing of Crystal Dawn Burns, age 50, at her home on Wednesday, February 5, 2025. Crystal was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend who touched the lives of many with her warmth and kindness. She graduated from Carrollton High School. She loved to play cards with family and friends and cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Crystal is survived by her loving mother, Paula Purvis, her beloved husband, Brian George, and her cherished son, Preston George who was the light of her life. She is also survived by her sisters, Angela (Frank) Dallas, Anita (John) Nutter, Jennifer (Cricket) Burns, her brother, Brandon (Britnee) Purvis and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas W. Burns and her stepfather, Keith Purvis.
Crystal had a deep love for her farm, where she found joy in caring for her animals and relishing the beauty of nature. She had a special talent for bringing people together and was known for hosting memorable Halloween and New Year's parties that filled her home with laughter and happiness.
Though she has left us far too soon, Crystal's spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her legacy of love, joy, and compassion will continue to inspire us all. Rest in peace, Crystal, you will be dearly missed.
Funeral services will be Monday at 2:00 pm in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Chaplain Larry Karlen officiating. Burial will be in Quaker Ridge Cemetery.
