Cora Karlen Evans "Corey"

age 77, of Canton, Ohio, passed away on March 28, 2023. Corey was born on January 1, 1946, in Alliance, Ohio to the late Oscar and Betty Karlen. She graduated from Minerva High School in 1963 where she was a football queen. She married Randy Evans 57 years ago and had two children, Scott and Robin. She worked at City Loan, TRW, Alliance City Hospital, Stern & Mann, and was the owner-entrepreneur of Corey's Gift Shop in Minerva.

Family and friends were everything to Corey. She enjoyed family gatherings, children's and grandchildren's events including sports and ballet, class reunions, throwing her Christmas Eve party for her family every year, and traveling to Arizona. Corey was known to send Hallmark cards for special occasions to let her friends and family know she was thinking of them. She showed kindness to those she loved and even complete strangers. Her family and friends felt the support and care from Corey as she was reliable and never failed to make you feel special.

Corey is preceded in death by her brother, Dwight Karlen. She is survived by husband, Randy; son, Scott (Meg) Evans; daughter, Robin (Clint) Zollinger; grandchildren Katie (Zach) Smith, Zach Evans, Caroline Zollinger, and Will Zollinger; great-grandchild Parker Smith; brother Don (Sally) Karlen and sister-in-law Sondra Karlen.
