Connie J. Morris
Age 69, of Minerva, passed away Monday, April 27, 2026, at Aultman Compassionate Care Center, surrounded by her family. She was born August 21, 1956, in Canton, Ohio, to the late Owen and Gwendolyn (Collins) Day.
Connie dedicated many years to caring for others through her work at Timken Mercy Hospital, the Family Medicine Center in Minerva, Aultman Immediate Care, and Aultcare. She graduated from Carrollton High School in 1974 and then attended Kent State University. She went on to earn her LPN certification from the Timken Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in 1977. Connie was a member of the Minerva First Christian Church, where she previously served as a Deaconess and a member of the choir. She enjoyed baking, spending time with family and friends, traveling, and crocheting.
Connie is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frederick Morris, who died in 2003, and her sister, Kay (Barbara) Onstott, who died in 2020. She is survived by a son, Rick Morris of Minerva; two daughters, Stephanie (Justin) Tomayko of Pittsburgh and Lindsay Morris (Alec Strong) of Columbus; one grandson, Lincoln Tomayko; and her faithful companion, Gunner.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Minerva First Christian Church with Ed Rinehart and Zach Long officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Monday, May 4, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Gotschall-Hutchinson Funeral Home.
