Christy E. McCollough
Age 72, of Lumberton, NC and formerly Minerva, died Monday June 3, 2013. He was born March 5, 1941 in Minerva to Harold and Lilly (Haines) McCollough. He graduated from Minerva High School in 1950. He was a brick layer and a US Army Veteran, member of the Minerva VFW Post #4120 and the Minerva Eagles Aerie #2199.
He is survived by his wife, Lois (Hunt) McCollough, stepson, Michael Hunt of Lumberton, NC, sister, Janice (Paul) (Hetherington) Gosiewski of North Canton, aunt, Mildred Haines of Minerva, nieces, Kim Sigler of North Canton and Kathy Smitley of North Canton, nephews, Brad Hetherington of Rhode Island and Rick Hetherington of Kansas and a step grandson, Mike Hunt.
As per his wishes, he was cremated and a memorial service will be held Saturday June 22nd at 11:00 in the Chapel at East Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Ben George officiating. Full military honors will be held prior to services. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post #357, 103 E. Line St., Minerva, OH 44657.
