Christine M. Smith

Age 67, of Tippecanoe, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2021 in Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital in Dover. She was born Oct. 5, 1954 in Canton to the late Wilbert and Marilyn (Bell) Dexter. She worked as a Registered Nurse for 30 years for Summa Health System, St. Thomas Hospital in Akron.  She graduated from Timken High School in Canton and the Summa Health System School of Nursing.

She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Thomas F. Smith, daughter, April Mason of Akron, son, Rex (Lisa) Higginbotham of TN, 2 stepsons, Glen (Leslie) Smith of Akron, Edward Smith of Akron, 4 brothers, Michael Dexter (Jennifer Blackburn) of Lexington, NC, Steven (Debbie) Dexter of Canton, Tracy (Mary) Dexter of KY, Dana Dexter of Canton, 7 grandchildren, Aiyanna Mason, Bethanie Higginbotham, William Higginbotham, Jacob Postalwait, Dylan, Reagan and Gray and a great grandson, Wyatt "Lucas".

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:00 am in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home with Chaplain Larry Karlen officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.  Calling hours will be one hour prior to services from 10-11 am at the funeral home.
