Chuck was not able to finish high school due to many family situations. In February 1943, he joined the U.S. Navy as a Machinist Mate Second Class and was honorably discharged in December 1945. The Navy gave him the opportunity to learn his trade as a stationery engineer. He later graduated from McKinley High School Adult Education with his high school diploma and attended Akron University majoring in chemistry. He also graduated from many night classes to further educate himself through the years in a multitude of fields. One that was very special to him was accomplishing a General Ham Operators license (WA8EEX).
He was employed at the Minerva Power Plant prior to his career at Ashland Oil Refinery (Canton, Ohio) where he retired as supervisor after 36 years. One of his favorite things to do was spending time in his workshop where he always had a home improvement project in the works.
Chuck had a kind soul, generous heart & loved people especially his "furry" friends. He is certainly in a better place and resting peacefully now.
