Charles Eugene Fry

"Gene" Fry, age 92, of Minerva, passed away Friday, June 6, 2025 in Aultman Hospital. He was born January 12, 1933 in Chicago, IL to Raymond and Mildred (Armburst) Fry. He retired from the Timken Company where he had worked for 43 years.  He is a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Minerva, Augusta Masonic Lodge #504 F&AM, 32nd degree Scottish Rite, Valley of Canton and Carroll Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star #315 and a life member of the Ohio Gun Collectors Association. He is a US Army Veteran of the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Patricia (Thompson) Fry whom he married June 3, 1956, daughter, Jeanette Leyda and friend, Matt Chalcraft of Minerva, 2 sons, Raymond (Robin) Fry of Minerva, Michael (Kris) Fry of Canton, a grandson, 5 granddaughters and 9 great grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Fry, son-in-law, Gary Leyda, and a grandson, Brent Fry.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 am in St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Minerva with Pastor Bob Linz officiating. Masonic services will be prior to services at 10:50 am. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery.  Calling hours will be one hour prior to services at the church from 10-11 am.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Minerva Senior Center.  Those wishing to send condolences may sign the online register at www.gotschallfuneralhome.com.
