Cecil M. Grindstaff, age 79, of Carrollton, died Sat. May 17, 2014 in Aultman Compassionate Care Center. He was born Sept. 16, 1934 in Rutherfordton, NC to Claude and Maggie Sue (Koon) Grindstaff. He was a press operator for Republic Steel and a member of the Sandy Valley Baptist Temple in Magnolia.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Helene (Rayfield) Grindstaff whom he married Sept. 11, 1954; a daughter, Linda Grindstaff of Minerva; son, Cecil E. (Cindy) Grindstaff of Carrollton; 4 sisters, Leila Berry of NC, Mildred Townsand of NC, Elsie (Ralph) Berry of NC and Norma Jean (Howard) Bentley of NC; 2 brothers, Clarence (Carol) Grindstaff of Carrollton and James (Reba) Grindstaff of NC; 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a sister, Reany Vance and 2 younger brothers.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11:00 am in the Sandy Valley Baptist Temple in Magnolia with Rev. Johnnie Crawford and Pastor Matt Smith officiating. Burial will be in Baxter's Ridge Cemetery.
