Carolyn F. Sturms, age 74, of Minerva and formerly a longtime resident of East Rochester, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015 in the Great Trail Care Center. She was born Jan. 28, 1940 in East Rochester to Frank and Edna (Wickersham) Boord. She was a housewife, graduate of Minerva High School and a member of the Faith Fellowship Church in East Rochester.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Forrest Sturms who died in 2010; 2 sisters, Martha Hawk and Elizabeth Betz; 5 brothers, Wayne, Robert, Edwin, Franck and James Boord. She is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Firestone of Minerva; and a son, Donald (Vickie) Sturms Jr. of Hanoverton; 3 granddaughters, Jenifer (Rob) Keister, Staci (Sam) Aria and Tifani Firestone and fiancé Josh Kent; 3 great granddaughters, Jaima Howell, Myah Howell and Amelia Mills.

Funeral services will be Monday at 11:00 am in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Rev. Chet Howes officiating. Burial will be in Moultrie Chapel Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday 6-8 pm and one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Faith Fellowship Church.
