Carolyn A. Becknell, Age 81, of Minerva, entered heaven on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 to be united with her savior and reunited with the love of her life Harold "Hal" Becknell. She was born in New Philadelphia and was a loving and wonderful daughter to Clarence and Ruth Edna (Putt) Renner. She retired from Stark County Children Services and was a long time member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Homeworth. She is a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in New Franklin where she was a past youth choir director and member of various church groups.
She is preceded in death by her husband Harold "Hal" Becknell who died in 2001; sisters, Luella Renner, Edith Devore, Eunice Blake; brother, Dean Renner; and son in law, Wilbert Brown. She raised her children in a home filled with love, laughter and music. She leaves her four daughter to mourn and "sing on" ; Shari (David) Dreher of North Canton, Christine Becknell-Brown of Louisville, Saundra (Curtis Cesarin) Kolar of Marshallville, Heather (Ryan) Doane of Paris; 11 grandchildren, Nikole Campbell, Kathryn and Courtnee Drehrer, Anna and Adam Brown, Caleb and Keifer Kolar, Chistopher, Jacob, Rylie, and Daniel Doane, and 5 great grandchildren, Haylie, Kylie, Chloe, Zoey, Steven.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 am in St. John's Lutheran Church in New Franklin with Pastor Joseph Ertl officiating. Burial will be in Paris Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday 6-8 pm at the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva and one hour prior to the services at the church.
