Bunia Lee Carpenter

Age 94, of Minerva, died Monday, March 26, 2018 in Aultman Hospital. She was born Aug. 7, 1923 in Newland, NC to James and Rosa (Freeman) Goins. She was a housewife and member of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Spruce Vine, NC.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Milton D. Carpenter who died in 1990, 3 sisters, Sylvia Rose, Bea Elliott, Esther Goins, 2 brothers, James Goins Jr. and William Goins. She is survived by daughter, Betty (Denzel) Cole of Minerva, son, Jerry (Zetta) Carpenter of Massillon, sister, Rosalyn (Wade) McCurry of Spruce Vine, NC, brother, Robert (Mary Helen) Goins of Childersburg, AL, 3 grandchildren, Pamela (Don) Frost, Zetta Via and Jerry (Helen) Carpenter II, 6 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter.

Calling hours will be Thursday 6-8 pm in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva. Funeral services will be Sat. at 2:00 pm in the Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine, NC with Rev. Wally Wise officiating. Calling hours will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery.
