Bruce C. Pumphrey

Age 90 of N. Canton, passed away Monday, May 5, 2025.  He was born Jan. 16, 1935 in Minerva to Carl and Margaret (Zumbar) Pumphrey. He retired from Hannon Electric in Canton and had worked for Ginn Textbook Company for many years. He is a member of St. Michael's Archangel Catholic Church in Canton.  He graduated from Minerva High School in 1953, received a Bachelor's in Education from Mt. Union College.  He is a US Army Veteran serving in Germany and is a member of the VFW Post #4120 in Minerva.  He was inducted into the Minerva Athletic Hall of Fame and the Stark County Amateur Basketball Hall of Fame.  He loved spending time golfing and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Cavaliers.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Sara (Casper) Pumphrey whom he married Jan. 3, 1959, a brother, Neil (Mary) Pumphrey of Salem and several nieces and nephews.

Following cremation, a private Mass of the Christian Burial will be held in St. Francis Catholic Church in Malvern with Fr. Victor Cinson as celebrant.  Those wishing to send condolences may sign the online register at www.gotschallfuneralhome.com.
