Bob Hanson, age 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at the Sunnybrook Assisted Living Facility in Hendersonville, NC. He was born on January 20, 1933 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Algers Rae "Ray" Hanson and Beatrice (Mulvihill) Hanson.
Bob served as a Sergeant in the United States Army during the Korean Era and held life memberships with the American Legion, NRA, Texas State Rifle Association, North American Huntsman Club and Fraternal Order of Eagles.
He was preceded in death by his wife Beverlee (Larson) and his brother William "Bill" Hanson.
Bob is survived by his sister Linda Hanson of Lakewood, OH; two sons and daughters-in-law: Mike and Tamara Hanson of Golden, CO, Jim and Cathie Hanson of Arvada, CO; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Scott Parrish of Hendersonville, NC; niece, Kristin (Hanson) Rasure of Chesterfield, MO; five grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Gotschall Funeral Home, 206 E. Lincoln Way, in Minerva, OH on Saturday, October 22 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation for friends will begin prior to the celebration service at 10:00. Interment with military honors will immediately follow the service at East Lawn Cemetery.
