Blanche P. Morrison
Age 92, of Minerva, died Monday, Sept. 8, 2014 in St. Luke Lutheran Community in North Canton. She was born Sept. 20, 1921 in Slatyfork, WV to Lake and Phoebe (Hamrick) Phillips. She retired from Denny's Market in Minerva and was a housewife. She is a member of the Minerva United Methodist Church, the Rebekah Lodge and the Daughters of America. She was Ms. Minerva in 1957.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Burton Morrison who died in 1977, 3 sons, Dwayne, Bradley and Steven Morrison, sister, Ruth Smith, ½ sister, Maude Phillips, 2 brothers, Brantie and Dale Phillips, ½ brothers, Clark, Guy, Roy and Coy Phillips and Virgil Hamrick and her longtime companion, Paul Dickerhoff. She is survived by a daughter, Jackie (Sara Mahan) Davison of N. Canton, son, Dennis (Michelle) Morrison of Canton, daughter-in-law, Geneva Morrison of Alliance, brother, Claude (LouEllen) Phillips of Marlinton, WV, 4 grandchildren; Amanda Morrison, Kristen (Keith) Blevins, Judd (Shannon) Morrison, and Austin (Lindsay) Morrison and 3 great grandchildren; Emilee, Haiden and Kaley.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:00 am in the Minerva United Methodist Church with Rev. Harley Wheeler officiating. Calling hours will be Friday 6-8 pm at the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva and one hour prior to services at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Assoc.
