Blanche V. Jackson, age 82, of East Rochester, died Sunday, February 24, 2013 in the Great Trail Care Center. She was born Oct. 24, 1930 in Colfax, WV to Charles and Velma (French) Hoffmaster. She retired from the Minerva Convalescent Center where she had worked as a cook for 20 years. She graduated from East Fairmont High School in Fairmont, WV in 1948, is a member of the East Rochester United Methodist Church where she had sang in the choir.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Earl Jackson whom he married Oct. 27, 1951; 4 sons, Bob (Brenda) Jackson of Canton, Steve (Amy) Jackson of Louisville, Dave (Diane) Jackson of Canton and Ed (Marilyn)Jackson of Minerva; 2 brothers, Charles Hoffmaster of Ridgley, WV and Albert Hoffmaster of Fairmont, WV; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by a sister, Clara E. Burns.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 12 noon in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Mr. Dale Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Moultrie Chapel Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5-7 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Great Trail Care Center Activity Fund.
