Obituary

Binford F. Eubank, of Minerva, died Thursday, April 16, 2015 in the Crandall Medical Center in Sebring. He was born May 3, 1923 in west Akron (Kenmore), OH to the late Oley Orin Eubank (OOE) and Grace (Sutton) Eubank, native West Virginians. He grew up on Howard Ave. in Mogadore, had a Christian conversion experience with Jesus at Springfield [Township] Church of the Brethren, and graduated from Springfield High School in 1941. After working for Goodyear Lighter than Air, he studied aeronautical engineering technology in California, and was a navigator in training in the USAAF when WWII ended. He then moved to Minerva and married Wilma Irene Baxter, living there for nearly the rest of his life. He had a varied career, working for the Minerva Milling Company, Minerva Savings and Bank, Republic Steel (Canton), Minerva Wax Paper, General Color and Chemical, and finally for John G Cleminshaw Appraisers (county auditor work). He was a member of the Minerva United Methodist Church. His hobbies included reading, air and railway photography, and he was a member of the Lighter than Air Society in Akron, the Naval Airship Association, and American Legion Post 357 in Minerva. Since 2006, he and Wilma had lived at Copeland Oaks Retirement Community in Sebring, OH.

Wilma preceded him in death. He was extremely thankful and proud of their two children, son Paul (Fairborn OH), and daughter Ann Soriano (New York City, Bronx). There are 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. His sister, Dorma (John) Warrick of Mt. Vernon, OH is previously deceased.

Funeral services will Monday at 2:00 p.m. in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva. Following services, burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery, Minerva.
