Billy L. Mingus, Sr.

Age 88, of Malvern, died Wed., Jan. 3, 2018 in his home.  He was born Dec. 16, 1929 in New Philadelphia to George and Martha (Lenigar) Mingus. He was a self-employed truck driver and had worked for TRW in Minerva. He is a member of the Free Will Baptist Church in Waynesburg. He was a US Air Force Veteran.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara (Arkenburgh) Mingus who died in 2017, 2 sisters, Catherine Smith, Mary Zurcker, 2 brothers, Charles and Donald Mingus, stepson, Dean Mingus. He is survived by 6 children, Joyce Ann Edwards of Columbus, Sue Ann Wackerly of Bayard, Billy Mingus Jr. of Minerva, Terry Mingus of IL, Patty Mingus of Bayard, Mike Mingus of Bayard; 7 stepchildren, Cathy Frost of MD, Donald Mingus Jr. of Canton, Richard Mingus of BayPoint, CA, Frank Mingus of Mechanicstown, Tammy Court of Malvern, Sharon Mingus of Canton, Ray Mingus of Lisbon; 5 brothers and sisters, Bob Mingus of Malvern, Betty Stanley of CA, Juanita May of Carrollton, Carol Seibert of AZ and Joseph Mingus of CA, and lots of grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Monday at 12 noon in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with grandson, Donald Jensen II officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery. Calling hours will be one hour prior to services.
