Betty Schandel
Age 92 of Minerva, died Sunday Aug. 14, 2011 in the Carroll Health Care Center. She was born Oct. 29, 1918 in Minerva to Michael and Cora (Kelhofner) Schandel. She worked on the family farm.
She is survived by a sister, Hattie Kolodziejski of VA, several nieces and nephews including Patricia (Larry) Evans of Malvern, Linda (David) Miller of Minerva, Tom (Sally) Davies of Minerva, Kenny (Judy) Davies of Minerva, Margaret Coy of Carrollton, David (Fran) Schandel of Atlanta, GA, Joyce (Bob) Lamaraux of Chesterland, Sharon (Larry) Englehart of Minerva and Pam (Jerry) Lapin of VA.
She is preceded in death by three sisters; Kathryn Hill, Verna Carson and Ida Davies, six brothers; Pius, Cornelius "Neely", Lewis, Howard, Kenneth and Ira Schandel, 4 nephews and a niece.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11:00 am in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Rev. Mark Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday 3-7 pm in the funeral home and one hour prior to services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Carroll County Humane Society.
