Betty A. Johnson, 99, of Sheffield Twp., passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2021 in Alliance, Ohio.
She was born November 26, 1922 in Ashtabula, the daughter of Frank W. and Bernice R. (Welton) Mosier and has lived in this area all of her life.
After meeting in a roller skating rink she was married to the love of her life Alvin L. Johnson on November 26, 1941 in Ashtabula, Ohio at the Messiah Lutheran Church and shared 62 cherished years of marriage.
She enjoyed playing Scrabble, the piano, and being outdoors working in her yard, woods, and mowing the lawn. In her earlier years she enjoyed sewing, making braided rugs, and playing in the Ashtabula Women's Basketball League for Murray's Soda Bar. Her homemade round loaf bread and blueberry pie are greatly missed. She was a member of the First Grace Gospel Church in Ashtabula and the bookkeeper for Johnson Machine & Fabricating until its closure.
Betty is survived by one son, Thomas A. (Karen) Johnson of Jefferson, OH; a daughter-in-law, Kathleen Johnson of Salem, OH; four grandchildren, Thomas (Paula) Johnson Jr. of Germantown, OH, Janice (Patrick) Tenan of Pierpont, OH, Wesley (Nikki Howell) Johnson of Minerva, OH and Travis Johnson of Homeworth, OH; three great granddaughters, Scarlet, Savanna and Summer Johnson; and one sister, Donna M. Weiss of Perry, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alvin in 2003; her son Frederick C. Johnson; three sister, Barbara Herle, Cora Jean Corlew, Lena (Lynn) Mae Verdi; and a brother Benjamin Mosier.
