Betty H. Martin, age 87, of Minerva, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013 in the Alliance Community Hospital. She was born May 26, 1925 in Toronto, OH to James and Ada Scott. She had worked at Good Roads Machinery, American Switch and General Color in Minerva. She is a member of the Bayard United Methodist Church. Known as "Aunt Betty" to all, she loved playing cards with anyone willing to play. She was the most loving mother, grandmother and aunt. The world was a better place because of her love, wit and humor. Her love was never ending. Making jewelry was her passion and anyone who knew Aunt Betty, had a beautiful bracelet or necklace made by her. Her generosity was astounding, she loved giving homemade gifts. She will be terribly missed.

She is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Russell Martin of FL; daughter, Susan (Steve) Ralph of FL; special niece and best friend, Linda (Gary) Fry of Minerva, they were so close they had no need for conversation to have a good time, they would just sit and enjoy each other. Also survived by special great niece, Sherry Fry of Lakewood; 4 grandchildren, Toni, Shane, Matthew and Christopher; special great grandchildren, Jillian and Avery; and many loved nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by a son, James "Jimmy" Kidder, Jr.; sisters and brothers, Evelyn Hanley, Pauline Long, Dorothy Lally, William, Kenny, Charles and Raymond Scott; and a granddaughter, Dawn.
