Betty Jane Collins

Age 95, formerly of Malvern, died November 5, 2019 in Crandall Medical Center in Sebring. She was born October 31, 1924 in Malvern to Harvey and Varilla (Johnson) Leyda. She graduated Malvern High School in 1942 and was a housewife. She is a member of the St. Gabriel Catholic Church and the Catholic Women's Club.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Daniel Collins, who died in 2001; an infant son; a sister, Lela Flanagan and 4 brothers, Walt, Earl, Robert and John "Bing" Leyda.

She is survived by a daughter, Marcia (Dale) Close of Beloit; 2 sons, Robert (Mary Jane) Collins of Malvern, Daniel (JoLene) Collins of Venice, FL; 3 grandchildren, Steven, Jason, Gabriel and 4 great-grandchildren, Conner, Aiden, Laynie and Emory.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 11:00am in the St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Minerva with Fr. Victor Cinson as celebrant. Burial will be at Bethlehem Cemetery in Malvern.
