Bertha B. Cox
Age 89, of East Rochester, died Sat. Sept. 7, 2013 in her home surrounded by her family. She was born July 1, 1924 in Holly, Colorado to James and Rosie (Ramsey) Saling. She was a housewife and was a receiving home for the Columbiana County Welfare Dept. having helped over 100 children. She was a member of the Augusta Christian Church and an avid gardener.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Cox who died in 1997, 2 sons, Edward and William Cox, daughter, Geraldine Smalley and 8 brothers and sisters. She is survived by 2 daughters, Gladys Carli of Cincinnati and Shirley McCartney of Bloomingdale, 2 sons, Floyd "Sonny" Cox of East Rochester and Paul (Sandra) Cox Jr. of Carrollton, 4 brothers and sisters; Emma Brown of Minerva, Ruth Johnson of TN, Jim Salng of FL and Jack Saling of Minerva, 17 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and many great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:00 am in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Rev. Joseph Sabella officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
