Barbara A. Underwood

Age 84, of Kensington, died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2022 in the Salem Regional Medical Center. She was born April 28, 1938 in Kensington to Floyd "Connie" and Sarah (Waugh) Hillyer. She sold real estate for the Stafford Realty and Bob Newell Realty and had worked at Summitville Tile.  She was also a team truck driver with her husband.  She is a member of the Carrollton Baptist Temple, the East Rochester Garden Club, past Worthy Matron for the Carroll Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and received the Caregiver of the Year Award from the State of Ohio.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Gene Underwood who died in 2013, a stepson, Gary Underwood, sister, Betty Hassler and 2 brothers, Wilbert "Dutch" Waugh and Harley Hillyer. She is survived by a daughter, Kimberly (Mark) Overholt of East Rochester, 2 grandchildren, Karla (Daniel) Lane, Derek Overholt and 2 great grandchildren, Malachi and Naomi Lane.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:00 am in the Carrollton Baptist Temple with Rev. David Powell officiating.  Burial will be in Augusta Cemetery.  Calling hours will be Friday 6-8 pm at the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva and Saturday one hour prior to services from 10-11 am at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Carrollton Baptist Temple.
