"Together Again"

Barbara G. Laubacher, 79

Barbara Gay (Dunn) Laubacher, 79, of Carrollton, went home to her Savior and into heavenly glory on January 24, 2025. Barbara received excellent care at Centreville Village and most recently at The Golden Age Retreat where she peacefully passed while lovingly surrounded by her daughters and grandchildren.

Born in Salyersville, Kentucky on September 16, 1945, to Haskell and Emily Jane (Allen) Dunn, the family later settled in Tuscarawas County, Ohio where Barbara attended Sandy Valley Schools and in 1964 graduated from Tuscarawas Valley High School. At the age of 20, Barbara, while working that summer as a cashier at Gray Drug, met Don, the handsome 23-year-old National Cash Register Company technician from Minerva/Malvern who stopped in to repair her cash register. This meeting would change their lives, creating a million ripples, ongoing. Their love would see their wedding the following summer, the addition into their home and hearts of 5 dear daughters and as those daughters brought home fine sons-in-law and eventually 11 grandbabies. Donnie and Barbara raised their bustling family with faith, laughter, fun, and hospitality in Malvern and later Carrollton with their devoted 50 plus year marriage ending only in Don's death late in 2019.

Early on Barbara worked hard as a homemaking stay at home mother who caringly sewed, baked and gardened. She loved all pets and all little children, caring for each childhood friend her daughters brought home as her own. Later she worked at and retired from GBS in Malvern. Barbara is a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Malvern.

In addition to her parents and husband, Barbara was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers: Dafnes Walker, Virginia Rose Dunn, John C. Dunn, David H. Dunn, and Allen Dunn. She is survived by one brother, James Dunn of Mineral City, her five daughters, Dawn (Tom) Quinn of Canton, Leigh Ann Russell of Canton, Linda (Troy) Norris of Strasburg, Emily (Jeff) Ulman of Carrollton and Jaime (Ronnie) Limbacher of Carrollton, and by her grandchildren: Mia (Fermin) Olivera, Alyssa (Harley) Wymer, Treasur (Eric) Luikart, Cole Russell, Alaina Ulman, Micaela DiLoreto, Dalton Sholtz, Jett Russell, Joseph Ulman, Mason Limbacher and Maximus Limbacher, as well as four great-grandbabies. Barbara is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Lou Dunn of Somerdale, and Amy Dunn of Florida, as well as brothers-in-law, Gary (Betty) Laubacher of Minerva and Gerald (Mickey) Walker of Somerdale, along with nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A Mass of the Christian Burial will take place on Friday, January 31, at 11 am at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Malvern with Fr. Victor Cinson as celebrant. Calling hours will be held one hour prior, from 10-11 am at the church. Burial will be in the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Malvern.
