Arthur "Goot" Shaw

Age 92, of Minerva, died Friday, Sept. 27, 2019 in the Carroll Healthcare Center. He was born March 9, 1927 in East Rochester to Arthur and Mildred (Kline) Shaw. He retired from Mascotech where he was a press operator. He is a member of the East Rochester United Methodist Church. He served in the US Army in WWII and Korea. He is a member of Sebring American Legion Post #76 where he was head of the bullshit corner, also a member of the VFW Post #4120 in Minerva.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Kay (Locke) Shaw who died in 1996, 2 sisters, Jessie Granger and Martha Kireta, granddaughter, Darbi, 4 brothers, William, Wayne, Don and George Shaw. He is survived by 2 daughters, Kathryn Shaw of Minerva, Lora (Wilbur) Snively of Kendallville, IN, son, James (Darla) Shaw of Carrollton, brother, Harry Shaw of New Haven, Miss, 2 grandchildren, Courtney (Traven) Huffman and Ean Snively and a great granddaughter, Camrian Huffman and his longtime companion, Myrtle Rinehart.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 am in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Chaplain Larry Karlen officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Grove Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday 5-8 pm at the funeral home.
