Obituary

Arlene V. Baumberger, age 85, of Minerva and formerly Paris, died Sat., August 16, 2014 in Minerva Eldercare surrounded by her family. She was born Aug. 1, 1929 in Paris to Clark and Leona (Sheatsley) Snyder. She was a unit aide for Aultman Hospital for over 20 years and had worked at the Timken Company, Arrowhead Orchard and was co-owner of Baumberger Dairy Farm. She is a member of the Paris Israel Church where she sang in the choir, had been the hymn leader, member of the Women's Guild, on the Sunday School Board, and a member of the church consistory. She is a 70 year member of the Robertsville Grange #1784, Pomona Grange #28, State and National Grange and was the first financial secretary for the Robertsville Grange. She graduated from Louisville High School in 1947, was a member of the Stark County Farm Bureau, Penn-Ohio Model A Ford Club, Early Ford V-8 Club of America, Performance Ford Club of America, sang in the Louisville Community Choir and cooked for the Minerva Community Meals.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Gene Baumberger who died in 2003; son-in-law, Ed Campbell; brother, Austin Snyder; and great granddaughter, Autumn Cress.

She is survived by 3 daughters, Debra (Richard) Romano of Minerva, Denise Campbell (David Shaffer) of Minerva and Wendy (Steve) Wheeler of Russell Springs, KY; son, Craig (Linda) Baumberger of Paris; sister, Ruth Ann (Charles) Greene of TX; brother, Melvin (Wilma) Snyder of Louisville; sister-in-law, Kay Snyder of Louisville; 8 grandchildren, Angie (Gary) Cress, Scott Romano, Josh (Amy) Campbell, Nathan, Ericka and Andrea Campbell, Calli and Mandi Baumberger; 4 great grandchildren, Shea and Sierra Cress, Jackson Romano and Laney Campbell.

Funeral services will be Sat. at 11:00 am in the Paris Israel Church with Pastor Alan Lamb and Pastor Steve Wheeler officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday 5-8 pm in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home with Grange services at 4:40 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Paris Israel Church.
