Arden R. Vance
Age 76 of Minerva died Sun. Jan. 8, 2012 in Alliance Community Hospital. She was born Dec. 16, 1935 in Minerva to Joseph and Rose (Reeder) Edwards. She retired from PCC Airfoils in Minerva where she worked for over 40 years. She was also a big part of the Normandy Inn for many years. She is a member of the Minerva First Christian Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Chester H. Vance who died in 1975, longtime companion Jerry Mills who died in 2010, son, Chester A. Vance, 3 sisters; Patricia Edwards, JoAnne Zwahlen and Judy Bagueros, 3 brothers; Alfred, Gordon and Joseph Edwards. She is survived by two grandchildren, Tania Vance (Franklin Monk) of Minerva and Dylan Vance of East Rochester, and 4 great grandchildren; Kyla and Hunter Vance, Brandon Tasner and Sebastian Monk, brother and sister-in-law Ralph and Barb Mills, several nieces and nephews and many special loving friends.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 am in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Mr. Ralph Norman officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday 5-8 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jerry Mills Normandy Inn Thanksgiving meal fund.
