Alta C. Mick

Alta C. (Lippincott)Mick, age 101, of East Rochester, went home to be with the lord on Friday, July 29, 2011 in the Great Trail Care Center in Minerva. She was born March 17, 1910 in East Rochester, OH to Edmond and Ophelia (Barrick) Lippincott. She was a member of the East Rochester Garden Club, volunteered for Meals on Wheels and the Red Cross. She enjoyed gardening and baking and welcomed everyone with a smile and freshly made food.

She is preceded in death by her husband Ronald Mick who passed in 1973; a daughter, Florence Mick; a sister, Alice Davis; 4 brothers, Joseph, Russell, Harry and Perry Lippincott.

She is survived by 2 sons, Ronald (Mary) Mick of Uniontown and Kenneth (MaryAnn) Mick of Malvern; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Mr. George Keralis officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to services.

The family would like to send a special thank you to the caring staff at the Great Trail Care Center and Crossroads Hospice. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Great Trail Activity fund at the nursing home.
