Allen R. Vance

Age 80, of Hanoverton, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021. He was born Dec. 17, 1940 in Flintstone, MD to Ora and Kate (Day) Vance. He retired from PCC Airfoils in Minerva where he worked in maintenance for 38 years.  He is a member of the Bethesda Presbyterian Church in Hanoverton.  He is a former youth football coach, member of the Minerva Athletic Booster Club and loved to attend and never missed a sporting event of his grandchildren. He is a US Army Veteran.  He was a jack of all trades and there wasn't anything he couldn't fix.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane (Steffy) Vance whom he married Dec. 15, 1997, 3 daughters, Patricia (Bob) Carl of Minerva, Tami Nichols of NC, Teri Vance of Minerva, stepdaughter, Betsy (Gary) Kosko of Hanoverton, 2 stepsons, Chuck (Terri) Johnson of Salineville, Robert (Laura) Johnson of Massillon, 13 grandchildren, Jaylyn, Hannah, Christopher, Trey, Tristan, Grace, Leah, Cassie, Adam, Brooke, Robbie, Courtney, Stephanie, 6 great grandchildren and a great great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Sharon (Parsons) Vance in 1996, a son, Jeffrey Collins and 10 brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11:00 am in the Bethesda Presbyterian Church in Pastor Tom Allmon officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Heritage Memorial Gardens in Minerva.  Calling hours will be Tuesday 5-8 pm at the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home.
