Albert Gingerich

Age 96, of East Rochester, Ohio, passed away from this life into eternity on February 16, 2026 after a period of declining health. He was born on April 7, 1929 in Middlefield, Ohio to Noah and Sara (Kauffman) Gingerich. On May 19, 1949, Albert pledged his lifelong commitment to Mary, and together they shared 70 years of marriage.

He was a faithful member of the Minerva Christian Fellowship, East Rochester, Ohio, where he rarely missed an opportunity to worship his Saviour and fellowship with his church family. Throughout his life he was a faithful follower of his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ and left a precious legacy of faith for his family to follow. Albert was ordained a deacon in October, 1965 at the Zion Christian Fellowship Church in Middlefield, Ohio, and after moving to Carrollton, Ohio, served as a deacon at Amana Christian Fellowship in Pattersonville, Ohio.

Besides his parents, Albert was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Hostetler) Gingerich who died in 2019, 7 brothers, 3 sisters, 2 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and one son-in-law. Surviving are 15 children: Robert (Kathryn) of Minerva; Noah of Carrollton; Olin (Ruth) of Huntsburg, Ohio; Laura (John) Burford of East Rochester; Linda (Jonas) Yoder of Leon, Iowa; Philip of Carrollton; Monroe (Laveta) of Leon, Iowa; Miriam Gingerich Hostetler of Mesopotamia, Ohio; Joe (Pricilla) of East Rochester; Nelson (Melody) of Richfield, PA; Paul (Regina) of Hartwell, GA; Hannah (Rolin) Miller of Dugspur, VA; Eugene (Naomi) of Millersburg, Ohio; Laban (Norma) of Mifflinburg, PA; Joel (Dorcas) of Minerva, 75 grandchildren, 134 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Visitation will be Friday, February 20th from 1-3 pm and 5-7 pm at the Christian Fellowship Church, 9457 Rochester Road, Minerva. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 21st at 10:00 am at the Minerva First Christian Church, 300 West Lincoln Way, Minerva with Pastors Ray Yoder, Keith Gingerich and Johnny Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Minerva Christian Fellowship Church Cemetery. Those wishing to send condolences may sign the online register at www.gotschallfuneralhome.com.
