Aaron J. Crater

Age 60, of Minerva, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2025 in his home surrounded by his family.  He was born January 14, 1965 in Alliance to the late John and Geraldine (Keister) Crater. He worked as a crane operator for Slesnick Recycling in Canton for 28 years.  He loved to spend time fishing and was a former member of the Minerva Eagles Aerie #2199.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Lisa (Mitchell) Crater who died in 2012. He is survived by 2 daughters, Aarenda (Corey Sullivan) Crater of Minerva, Carissa Johns of Minerva, son, Christopher "Bubby" Crater of Minerva, niece and caregiver, Amy (Jesse Arntz) Knauff with whom he resided, 2 sisters, Susan (Bob) DeLong of Malvern, Karen (Bob) Kutscher of Minerva, brother, Nevin (Barbara) Crater of Malvern and 5 grandchildren; Braden, Kendra, Phoenix, Joey and Declan and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 am in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home with Mr. Kevin Crater officiating.  Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery.  Calling hours will be Wednesday 6-8 pm at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice c/o 3743 Boettler Oaks Dr., Suite E, Uniontown, OH 44685.  Those wishing to send condolences may sign the online register at www.gotschallfuneralhome.com.
